National Research into Self Funders’ views

Tim Allan of Ekosgen travelled to Wiltshire to collect the views of some members of the Self Funders Forum and PA’s they employ at Wiltshire CIL for national research commissioned by Skills for Care about the Social Care workforce and PA role. Self Funders Forum Meeting Information on Employing Staff Direct

There was a meeting of the Self Funders Forum on Tuesday April 17^th in Devizes when members discussed the issues about “Employing Staff Direct”. As well as looking at the advantages of employing staff direct, we looked at all that is involved and required by law and also looked at costings. For people who fund their own care (also known as Self Funders) Wiltshire CIL organises and facilitates a series a forums for people to meet, discuss issues and share ideas. The main part of the Forum is the invited guest speaker. The speakers are drawn from a variety of relevant areas to provide information that is important to people who fund their own care. The Forum is invited to suggest what speaker would be relevant for the following meeting and we arrange for that to happen.
