(2) TREASURER (BOARD OF TRUSTEES)

This is for you if …

  • You have an aversion to the phrase ‘but we have always done it this way’
  • You are hopeful and positive, genuinely believing that you can be part of the change we all want to see
  • You don’t think you have all the answers, or even all the questions, and you don’t try to fix things
  • You have an open mind and like listening as well as talking
  • You like to try out stuff, are OK with it failing and willing to learn and try again.

About Us: Our vision is for all disabled people to be able to live independently through individual choice, control and equal rights.  Our mission is to provide the support required to achieve this.

We have an annual income of around £1 million which comes from various contracts with the local council and the NHS and other sources of ad hoc funding.  We don’t do fundraising.  We have approximately 20 members of staff.

We are in exciting times!  Wiltshire CIL has a relatively new Board of Trustees who are strong, committed and engaged and we are currently involved in developing a dynamic governance structure so that trustees and staff interact and work together at all levels to evolve the best possible support for disabled and elderly people in Wiltshire to live lives of their choosing.

75% of the Board is either disabled or represents a disability group.  It currently meets 4 times a year (though additional meetings may be called when necessary) and there is provision for members to join on-line.  Dates are agreed in advance.

About You: Our Treasurer will lead the board in meeting its financial governance and management obligations.  We are a small charity with big ideas and, as part of our board, you will have the opportunity to drive, support and shape our work and strategic direction.  As Treasurer, you will lead the board’s work to keep us well-governed, viable and sustainable.

If interested in this voluntary role, please contact info@wiltshirecil.org.uk for further information and a short application form, or Caroline, our chair chair@wiltshirecil.org.uk if you would like an informal chat about what’s expected.

Closing date for applications: Friday 13th September 2024
