Wiltshire Centre for Independent Living – a disabled people’s user-led organisation and an agent of anti-oppression – and all the individuals with conscience and empathy who work within it, stand in solidarity and in support of the Black Lives Matter movement in its struggle to eradicate racism and inequality in all its forms and in particular to protest against the brutal murder of George Floyd.

We are opposed to any form of racism, hate crime or injustices on any level. We will continue to draw attention to any type of marginalisation of people and we will continue to ensure their right to have a voice is heard.

We will commit to uphold the rights of individuals to be able to lead a decent life without fear or favour of recrimination. We will continue to listen, to engage, to stand alongside, to take risks and to collaborate with people and communities. We will continually question our values and actions to ensure we stamp out any form of perceived or unintentional racism.
